I practice in the area of general civil law with an emphasis on wine law, land use, real estate, property development, administrative law and litigation associated with these areas. I began my practice in Atlanta, Georgia litigating in defense of large corporations with regard to products liability and business matters. I then accepted a partnership in a smaller firm taking on actions for Plaintiffs in both business and personal injury matters.
Having a long standing love of wine, I was inspired to move to the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley in 2004. My practice has shifted to representing wineries, vineyards, and other business with regard to land use, real estate, development, licensing and compliance. I still continue to handle litigation on behalf of clients in these areas and the occasional other matter.
I received my law degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College with an Environmental Certificate. I received my undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut. I am a member of the State Bars of California and Georgia, the Santa Ynez Valley Bar Association, Santa Barbara County Vintners Association, and Santa Maria Valley Vintners Association. I am also a board member of Arts Outreach, a non-profit corporation that provides art classes to 3,000 school children throughout the Santa Ynez Valley and surrounding area.
